CHECK TOO UNDER NON-CHESS FOR SEVERAL EXCELLENT MATHEMATICS AND SCIENCE BOOKS!        NOTE THAT CURRENTLY WE HAVE AN ABUNDANCE OF SCARCE CHESS PROBLEM ITEMS — see that section.

My e-mail address: [email protected]

NOTE: Henceforth there is a minimum charge of $50 for all orders, except for books I have published as well as Gillam and Lachaga editions still in print. Domestic postage is $4 for orders for less than $100. Domestic orders over $100 are $3 postage.

NOTE: New policy. Henceforth items will be held no longer than ten days. If the buyer assures me that payment has been sent, items will be held an additional six days. After that any such items are subject to prior sale.

Payments:

I do not take any credit cards, but I do take Paypal for foreign orders. There is a 3.9% fee to cover what I am charged by Paypal, but this is usually much cheaper than wire transfer fees by banks for payments less than about $1000, though this varies from country to country.

For US Customers I accept personal checks (I wait until the check has cleared unless I have dealt with you before) or US Postal Money Orders.

Foreign orders: Checks in US dollars on a New York bank (available in some countries) or money orders in US dollars are also accepted in addition to Paypal.  DO NOT SEND CASH! Checks in foreign currencies are generally unacceptable because there is a poor conversion rate and a cashing charge of about $40. Canadian customers can send payment in Canadian money orders in US dollars or in Canadian personal checks at the exchange rates on the date of sending. British customers can send payment as personal checks in pounds sterling at the rate prevailing on the date of sending. Inasmuch as the stock changes almost every day, it is best to have me check on the availability of particular items before sending payment. Note well that any loss is the buyer's loss unless there is insurance. Losses can the be replaced up to the insured value. Rates and insurance limits vary from country to country. Loss rates are very low, but they do happen.

Returns: Items that are defective or incomplete can be returned for another copy without question. Where another copy cannot be provided, a refund will be made. On expensive items I carefully examine the item before sending it. Any other items need my permission before a return is accepted. Items sold on an "as is" basis are not returnable at all.

To contact me:

The best way to contact me for questions, etc., is via e-mail. My e-mail address is dbrandreth3 (at) comcast (dot) net. It is difficult for me to keep track of the numerous phone calls I get since I am in and out frequently. With over 20,000 different chess items in stock I seldom can quote over the phone anyway.
